Wedo Consulting's IT strategy presentation at international CIB-conference in Istanbul 04.10.2009 |
Reino Myllymäki presented his paper ”Business-driven IT Strategy in Multi-Business and Multi-National Companies” in the 26th International Conference of CIB W078. The theme of the conference was “Managing IT in Construction” and it was held in Istanbul, Turkey October 1st to 3rd, 2009. In his paper Myllymäki presented a method to prepare the IT strategy via understanding the requiring/enabling relationship between business and IT. As an example he used a very difficult enterprise model: a multi-national multi-business company. The paper is based on his article published in the IT Management Handbook of Kauppalehti and the long experience as CIO of YIT Corporation during 1996-2008. In his paper he presents how the enabling impact of IT can be inserted in the business strategies via IT utilization strategies. The method presented by Reino Myllymäki can be scaled from multi-business companies to the one-business companies as well as from multi-national companies to international and domestic companies. |
